In our search for successful participatory practices, just and effective governance and bottom-up initiatives, we have conducted seven regional case studies, across seven countries: The Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Slovenia, Germany, and Bulgaria. he findings and insights collected were summarised in regional recommendations for each case study. Audrey Wientjes & Lina le Pelley, both from DRIFT, have gathered insights from two regional case studies – the Netherlands and Denmark – highlighting six “lessons learned” for participatory, inclusive, and just wind energy development in these regions. They also reflecte dont he broader context, asking themselves how we can conceptualise the green transition, and raise reflexive open questions applicable to any region.
